Wash & Care

how to wash & care

Step-by-Step Guide to Washing Sharqiaa Hijab.

Step 1

Gather your supplies

Fill the Basin: Fill a basin or sink with cool or lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, as it can damage delicate fabrics.

Add Detergent:
Add a small amount of mild detergent designed for delicates. Follow the detergent’s instructions for the appropriate amount.

Mix:
Gently agitate the water to create suds.

Submerge Hijab:
Place the hijab in the water. Make sure it’s fully
submerged.

Soak:
Let it soak for about 5 minutes. This helps loosen any
dirt or oils.

Swish:
Gently swish the hijab around in the water. Avoid scrubbing or twisting, as this can damage the fabric.

Gentle Cleaning:
Gently swish the hijab around. For areas around the embellished area, lightly use a soft cloth or sponge to dab the area. Avoid scrubbing or rubbing, which can damage the beads or crystals.

Drain the Water:
Carefully drain the soapy water from the basin.

Rinse:
Refill the basin with clean, cool water. Gently swish the hijab in the clean water to remove detergent.

Repeat if Needed:
If there is still soap residue, drain the water and refill the basin with fresh clean water, then rinse again.

Gently Squeeze:
Carefully lift the hijab out of the water and gently squeeze out excess water. Avoid wringing or twisting, which can stretch or damage the fabric.

Low Heat Setting:
Use the iron’s lowest heat setting, usually labeled as “Low” or with a symbol indicating delicate fabrics. For many irons, this is around 250°F to 300°F (120°C to 150°C).

Pressing Cloth:
To protect the chiffon and prevent the embellished area in direct contact with the iron, use a pressing cloth. Place a thin, clean cotton cloth between the iron and the hijab.

Additional Tips

Spot Cleaning:

For small stains, use Sharqiaa Stain Remover or a mild detergent and a soft cloth to spot clean before washing the entire hijab.

For the best results, use Sharqiaa Stain Remover as soon as the dirt gets on the fabric, or within 12 hours.
